Cheryl Oliver will be bringing an update on the Turner Center for the Arts.  Cheryl began her tenure at the Turner Center in March 2008 as Interim Executive Director and assumed the    position of Executive Director in July 2008.  A native of Quitman, she attended Valdosta State (College) and now lives in Lake Park with her husband, Jack, and dog, Sam.

Today’s program is being brought to us by Mike Nelligan. The Mission Point, formerly Mission Point Baptist Church has accidentally become Valdosta’s mission to the homeless, hungry and addicted. They now find themselves preparing hot meals on Sunday Morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. They distribute food and clothing to the  hungry and poor of Valdosta and provide a substance abuse treatment program.

In June 2009, John and Chris Roan’s youngest daughter Molly joined the Peace Corps.  Recently the Roan’s traveled to Mongolia to visit Molly.  Today we are looking forward to hearing all sorts of exciting things from Chris as she shares stories from their recent excursion.
